The circus has always fascinated and frightened me. I have always been captivated with the circus performers and in awe of the animals while growing up, yet also in fear of the stories of being kidnapped and taken away by the performers. So my childhood memories are intertwined with these images and stories. In this series the prints represent the fascination, humor and dark side of the circus. Animals are represented as "life-like" yet with a twist and with sorrow. The performers are portrayed as bored and helpless prisoners or as mean and vengeful creatures. They are caricatures of us all. Prints are first editions of 50.
